- New Member Sponsors
New members, or potential new members, are introduced to peers with similar interests - age group, family composition, and known concerns. Church activities are identified and members are introduced to the new folks. Together the new members are eased into a satisfying church life by their expanding circle of friends.
- Shepherding Program
The goal of the Shepherding Program at First Presbyterian Morristown is to have every member be part of a small flock that consists of six to eight families. The members of the flocks are contacted on a regular basis by their shepherds. Flocks are encouraged to pray for each other and possibly get together once or twice a year for fellowship and sharing information about the church.
- Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry is grounded in Jesus' command to love one another. Through one-to-one caring relationships, those who are hurting receive the love and care they need. Stephen Ministry helps meet the needs of individuals who are hospitalized, terminally ill, bereaved, in a job crisis, new members of the church, disabled, homebound, lonely, in a spiritual crisis, and looking for a caring, Christian friend.
- Prayer Partners
Evangelism - Mark Holtkamp, chair
The Evangelism Committee encourages and leads church members in reaching outside the congregation through determining unmet needs in the community and welcoming visitors, new residents in the community, the unchurched, and others.
This committee:
- provides information to the community about First Presbyterian Church
- provides programs, workshops and other events that can empower people to reach outside the congregation to bring people into the membership of God's family and into involvement in the life and work of the church
- supplies sanctuary pews with brochures, pew envelopes, prayer request cards and friendship pad sheets
- assists with collection of friendship sheets after each worship service on Sunday morning
- provides a snack supper for participants of the Christmas Parade each year before the start of the parade

Through Holston Presbytery we have covenant relationships with Sunset Gap, Grandfather Home and Holston Presbytery Camp. In addition, our church and its members are involved in many mission projects not listed on this page. We also support education focused ministries as well as several special offerings received throughout the year
